Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a---wait a minute, I do have mice! (And I think they're Muslim mice, so they don't celebrate Christmas anyways...)

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and hope that you enjoy a peaceful holiday among family and friends.

I have to admit, Christmas in Cairo just isn't the same as it is back home. It may have something to do with the fact that only 10% of the people in Egypt are Christians, but Egyptains DO at least attempt to celebrate the holiday, in one way or the other. However, their idea of celebration includes more the variety of disco techs, bars, and all night extravaganzas, and running around in super pointy, lit up Santa hats, but at least they have fun, albeit a la Egyptian style.

Anyhow, Merry Christmas! And here's to a great time over the holidays!

Love,

Katie
